About the Role
As a Pastry Cook Assistant, you'll work hands-on in a real commercial bakery, helping to create our famous cakes, pastries, and desserts from scratch. You'll assist with preparation, mixing, decorating, baking, and finishing — learning professional pastry and baking techniques every day.
You'll work alongside experienced Pastry Cooks and Chefs who will mentor you throughout your apprenticeship. This is an active, creative role where no two days are the same — and you'll finish each shift proud of what you've helped to make.
What You'll Do:
* Assist with daily preparation and production of cakes, pastries, and desserts
* Learn to mix, bake, decorate and finish products to Miss Maud's high standards
* Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace
* Support the team with stock control, food safety, and quality checks
About You
You'll thrive in this role if you:

* Are reliable, motivated, and enjoy working in a team
* Are physically fit and able to work on your feet
* Have flexible availability, including the ability to start early
* Have reliable transport to our Northbridge Bakehouse and TAFE (if applicable)
