About the opportunity
As a Graduate Mine Surveyor, you will report to the Senior Surveyor and provide assistance to the Mine Surveyors in supporting and applying technical expertise to mining operations, specifically related to maintaining the underground model, executing mine design accurately, and reporting.
The role includes:
1. Assisting the Mine Surveyor to fulfill all survey requirements for underground and surface mine operations while adhering to statutory, safety, health, and environmental standards.
2. Gaining proficiency in completing surface and underground survey tasks independently.
3. Acquiring experience in end-of-month calculations and reporting.
4. Developing advanced CAD processing skills over time.
5. Performing calculations and fieldwork as required by Mine Surveyors.
6. Maintaining survey equipment, including proper storage and checks for damage.
7. Managing stock supplies and reordering when necessary.
What do I need?
* A tertiary qualification in Surveying.
* Practical experience or vacation time is advantageous.
* Strong computer skills and excellent communication abilities with all operational levels.
* A current and valid Manual Driver's Licence.
* A recent National Police Clearance.
* The ability to pass Westgold's pre-employment screening.
