About the opportunity
Student Services is looking for an experienced Student Communications Coordinator to join their team.
The University's Student Communications team is the primary creator, publisher, and manager of all digital "one to many" communications and information for continuing students on behalf of the institution.
As part of this team, the Student Communications Coordinator will provide operational oversight in the coordination, planning, and delivery of high quality, student centred communications across the University's digital platforms. This includes the Student Portal, UTAS App, UTASLife, AskUs, email channels, and other key communication touchpoints.
As our new Student Communications Coordinator, you will ensure communications are strategically aligned, operationally efficient, and consistently executed to support informed, engaged, and connected students.
You will also play a key role in shaping communication practices, improving processes, and supporting the broader student experience strategy.
What you'll do:
* Coordinate, plan, and oversee the development of high‑quality content across student communication platforms.
* Ensure digital student communications and content across all platforms are regularly updated, audited, and quality‑assured for accuracy, accessibility, and relevance.
* Review and analyse student engagement insights and platform analytics, using data to inform decision‑making and provide recommendations.
* Support proactive engagement with key stakeholders - including student leaders, UConnect, Community Experience Coordinators and TUSA.
* Provide guidance and coordinate team workflows, including supporting ticket allocation processes and facilitating regular team meetings.
* Act as a key coordinator in the management and continuous improvement of Student Communications platforms.
What we're looking for:
* Completion of a degree in a related field such as media, journalism or marketing and relevant experience in development and production of digital content and communications.
* Excellent written and visual communication skills, including digital content creation, copywriting, editing, and email automation.
* Experience analysing digital engagement data and applying insights to improve communication reach, relevance, and effectiveness.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes.
* Demonstrated ability to coordinate workflows, manage competing priorities, and deliver high‑quality outputs in a dynamic environment using initiative and sound judgement.
* Understanding of student management systems, audience segmentation, and contemporary communication tools such as CMS platforms, Student Portal, UTAS App, and Eloqua.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $116,872 comprising base salary within the range of $92,120 to $99,891 plus 17% superannuation.
