About the Role
Ready to kick your career into gear? Thiess is on the lookout for a skilled and safety-focused Tyre Fitter to join our team on a permanent full-time basis at the QCoal Northern Hub – an open-cut coal mining project just 10 minutes south of Collinsville in the Bowen Basin.
Reporting to the Tyre Supervisor, you'll be a key player in keeping our fleet moving, working hands-on with some of the biggest equipment in mining.
Your day-to-day will include:
Removing and fitting rims and wheel assemblies on heavy earthmoving equipment
Refitting and maintaining tyres to the highest safety standards
Performing regular tyre pressure checks, adjustments, and reports
Using technical manuals, bulletins, and computer-based systems to guide your work
Proactively identifying issues before they become problems
Following all site procedures to ensure safety and compliance
About You
We're looking for someone who brings experience, precision, and a passion for getting the job done right.
To be successful, you'll have:
A minimum of 2 years' experience as a tyre fitter (mining or heavy earthmoving preferred)
- Hold current AUR21920 Cert II in Automotive Tyre Servicing or AURKTJ011 & AURKTJ012
A HR driver's licence (preferred but not essential)
Solid post-trade experience in the mining, heavy earthmoving, or hydraulic excavator industries
A proactive, safety-first attitude and strong teamwork skills
