Role Summary
Logistics Specialists play a vital role in the success of Amazon Web Services by providing the right part, in the right place at the right time.
Your contribution involves maintaining the onsite parts room in AWS Data Centers, managing the custody of computer hardware through its lifecycle, receiving parts, safely storing parts, picking and delivering parts to hardware technicians, cycle counts, and returning faulty hardware to the vendor.
Responsibilities
Maintaining inventory to ensure proper stock levels to support build and repair activities.
Physically receiving and issuing parts for internal customers.
Loading, unloading and transporting parts between sites.
Keeping accurate stock records through physical cycle counts.
Maintaining safety, organization, and cleanliness of workspaces using Amazon 7S principles.
Travel
Role may require travel to other sites in the Melbourne metro area to assist in cycle counts, receiving stock, replenishing stock, and returning defective stock.
Travel between sites requires own transport; all travel-related costs are reimbursed.
Physical / Environmental Demands
Safety-first environment; use appropriate tools to perform roles safely.
Loading and unloading shipments.
Standing, sitting, and walking (including stairs) for prolonged periods.
Frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and kneeling.
Reach and stretch to position equipment; balance required.
Push or pull heavy objects up to 16 kg; participate in lifts of 20 kg or more.
Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment; work with moving mechanical parts.
Work in office and warehouse environments with low to moderate noise.
A Day in the Life
Your day will involve logistical support functions for Data Centers, including physical control and processing of spare parts transactions, consumables stock replenishment, and cycle counting.
Basic Qualifications
Experience in warehouse operations and logistics or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in warehouse operations.
