Become a part of an exciting opportunity as a Graduate Allied Health Clinician (Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Psychologist) with the Mental Health, Alcohol, and Other Drugs Service. In this role you will be delivering evidence-based clinical services, including assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic intervention and evaluation, to consumers of the Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services (MHAODS).
About us: The Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services (MHAODS) is responsible for delivering Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services throughout the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service and for supporting other Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services in the surrounding Hospital and Health Services of Cape York, Torres Strait Northern Peninsula Area. Its primary objective is to ensure access to a comprehensive range of treatment and support services, clinical treatment, rehabilitation, disability support, as well as early intervention, and mental health prevention and promotion.
About you: In your new role you will......
* Develop an individualised learning plan which will include key required training within the program.
* Participate in cohort mentoring and reflection with other Allied Health MHAODS graduates, complete reflection assessments and required competency tools throughout the program.
* Undertake discipline specific assessments and interventions within well-established clinical protocols.
About your opportunity: In this position you will.....
* Report operationally and professionally to the Director of Allied Health, Cairns MHAODS, and the relevant profession specific director within Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS).
* Using a biopsychosocial model conduct mental health assessments and assist consumers and families/supports to develop a comprehensive individual recovery plan and facilitate the effective delivery, monitoring and evaluation of this plan.
* Work with families and communities to promote recovery and community inclusion and to access generic supports, opportunities and resources.
