The work of Education Assistants with an EAL/D focus is to assist teachers in the delivery of appropriate EAL/D curriculum, pedagogy and assessment practices and maximising everyday language learning opportunities. The successful applicant should support the education and settlement of newly arrived migrant and refugee background students through assisting teachers in the delivery of education programs, supporting students with settlement issues, interpreting in a range of contexts to ensure students, parents and the school community communicate effectively through providing advice and background on cultural issues.
We are looking for Education Assistants particularly familiar with languages of Punjabi, Hindi, Gujarati, Tagalog, Filipino and Arabic to join our team, however all applications are welcomed from every language group.
The successful applicant should support the education background of students through assisting and interpreting in a range of contexts to ensure students, parents and the school community communicate effectively through providing advice and background on cultural issues.
