About the Role
We’re looking for a seasoned Cloud Security Engineer to assess and strengthen the security posture of our AWS and Azure infrastructure, while guiding development teams on secure CI/CD pipeline practices. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work across engineering, DevOps, and security teams to embed security into every layer of our cloud-native applications and infrastructure.
Key Accountabilities
* Lead security assessments of AWS and Azure environments, identifying misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps.
* Design and implement cloud monitoring and threat detection strategies.
* Collaborate with developers, architects, engineers, and external vendors to promote cloud security and engineering standards across all stages of development.
* Partner with security, risk, compliance, and delivery teams to identify, assess, and address cybersecurity risks, ensuring implementation of agreed controls.
* Advise development teams on integrating security into CI/CD pipelines, including SAST, DAST, and container scanning.
* Collaborate on infrastructure-as-code security and automated guardrails.
* Develop and maintain cloud security standards, playbooks, and tooling.
* Stay ahead of emerging cloud threats and drive continuous improvement.
* Contribute to secure system architecture design and define cyber and information security requirements for projects and transformation initiatives.
* Support service transition into Security Services Governance and Ops teams, assist with regulatory compliance activities, and translate technical risks into business impacts.
About You
You’re a cloud security expert who thrives at the intersection of infrastructure, automation, and secure software delivery. You have a deep understanding of both AWS and Azure, and you know how to translate complex security requirements into practical solutions that developers and engineers can adopt with confidence.
You’re not just technically strong, you’re a natural collaborator. You enjoy working closely with DevOps and engineering teams, guiding them on how to build secure CI/CD pipelines, implement guardrails, and respond to emerging threats. You’re proactive, detail-oriented, and always looking for ways to improve security posture without slowing down innovation.
You’re comfortable leading assessments, designing monitoring strategies, and influencing cloud architecture decisions. Whether it’s reviewing IAM policies, setting up automated vulnerability scans, or helping teams shift security left, you bring clarity, leadership, and technical depth to every challenge.
Your Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in cloud security, infrastructure security, or DevSecOps.
* Deep expertise in AWS and Azure security services (e.g., IAM, GuardDuty, Security Center).
* Hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
* Strong understanding of container security (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS/AKS).
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate) are a plus.
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., CPS234, Privacy), awareness of current and emerging cybersecurity threats and ability to assess their potential impact on Cbus’ major stakeholders would be beneficial.
* Strong communication skills, ability to explain security concepts and issues to business stakeholders.
