Contract | Government Client | Multiple Locations
We're looking for an experienced Cloud Platform / DevOps Engineer to join a large-scale government program delivering secure, enterprise-grade cloud platforms across AWS and Azure.
This role blends cloud platform engineering, landing zones, and CI/CD automation, working in a highly regulated environment where stability, security, and automation matter.
Locations: Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide
Start: Mid-June 2026
Engagement: Contract
Clearance: AGSVA Baseline / NV1 / NV2 required
What you'll be doing
* Design, build and support AWS and Azure cloud platforms in production and non-production environments
* Deliver and uplift Landing Zones (AWS & Azure), including baseline configurations, policies, SCPs, RBAC and governance
* Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure and application delivery
* Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep/ARM or CloudFormation
* Support platform operations including patching, monitoring, backup validation and incident resolution (L2/L3)
* Work closely with engineers, DevOps teams and service desks to embed best-practice cloud and automation standards
* Contribute to documentation, runbooks and continuous improvement initiatives
What we're looking for
* 5-10+ years' experience in cloud platform or DevOps engineering
* Strong hands‐on experience across AWS and/or Azure
* Proven experience with:
o AWS Control Tower, SCPs, IAM, VPC architecture
o Azure Landing Zones, Azure Policy, RBAC
o CI/CD tooling (e.g. Jenkins, Git, GitHub/GitLab, Azure DevOps)
o Containers & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
o Scripting & automation (Bash, Python, PowerShell)
* Solid understanding of cloud security, networking, monitoring and ITIL processes
* Experience working in government or regulated environments
Nice to have
* AWS and/or Azure certifications (Admin, DevOps, Architect)
* Experience with Dynatrace, Azure Monitor or CloudWatch
* Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
