The Sunshine Coast Regional Council is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Team Leader to join our Feral Animal Education & Control Team.
This role involves providing leadership and support to the Feral Animal Education and Control team, ensuring high performance standards are maintained.
You will interpret legislation, regulations, policies, management plans, and strategies, developing processes and procedures as needed.
About the Role
This role involves managing the preparation, implementation, and review of feral animal education and control projects and programs, overseeing physical, financial, and administrative aspects.
Key Responsibilities include liaising effectively with community members, staff, councillors, external consultants, sub-consultants, contractors, or suppliers, managing project delivery, and developing specialist knowledge.
* Liaise effectively with community members, staff, councillors, external consultants, sub-consultants, contractors, or suppliers to ensure timely project delivery.
* Manage the preparation, implementation, and review of feral animal education and control projects and programs, overseeing physical, financial, and administrative aspects, and reporting performance.
* Develop and contribute specialist knowledge to strategies, policies, standard operating guidelines, reports, briefings, submissions, and discussion papers on current and emerging issues relevant to feral animal education and control projects and programs.
* Coordinate consultation and community engagement processes relevant to community action and engagement programs using high-level judgement, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
* Provide team leadership that supports a team culture valuing diversity and inclusion, encouraging team work, employee engagement, innovation, openness, participation, learning, and development.
Requirements
You will possess a bachelor's degree related to Natural Resource Management, Environmental Health, or tertiary qualifications and/or significant relevant industry experience relating to pest animal control principles, techniques, and best practice.
Complementing this will be demonstrated leadership skills to build strong, customer-focused teams and foster a workplace culture consistent with corporate values, along with extensive relevant experience and demonstrated ability to understand and apply legislation, policies, standards, regulations, and procedures relevant to the area of work.
