AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking a Lead Process Engineer to join the AMG V Team.
In this position, you will be responsible for providing support to the AMG V Melt Shop (Electric Arc Furnaces) and Roaster operations, while guiding and developing the process engineering team.
Responsibilities and Duties Lead by example and comply with all AMG V safety and environmental requirements and Company policies and procedures, including AMG's Code of Business Conduct.
Train and provide guidance for members of your team to ensure their safety and mitigate environmental risk; build a culture of safety engagement Embrace and promote the AMG V culture in all day-to-day activities; foster and promote a positive, respectful work environment that is aligned with AMG's values Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to operations personnel.
Monitor process control metrics and implement/suggest corrective actions to maintain quality and throughput targets.
Supervise and mentor a team of process engineers to ensure effective performance and professional development.
Drive the team towards continuous improvement opportunities and problem solving initiatives to reduce cost and improve throughput.
Collect data and apply standard scientific and statistical methods to measure, analyze, document, and evaluate operational processes; develop and maintain reports to track and monitor key data.
Conduct risk analysis of equipment, processes, and systems Coordinating cross functional teams between engineering, operations, and supply chain to ensure operational objective are being met.
Qualifications/Skills/Requirements Bachelor of Science degree in extractive metallurgical engineering preferred; metallurgical engineering or chemical engineering degree required; MS or MBA a plus 5+ years of experience required; heavy manufacturing experience a plus Previous leadership experience preferred Strong process/technical/analytical skills Proficient in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiment (DOE) methodologies Excellent critical and logical thinking skills; problem-solving skills Command of lean manufacturing principles; mindset for continuous improvement Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and facilitation skills Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Excel), knowledgeable of statistics software, data management, and programming principles.
