- **We are seeking to establish a Pool of Coordinator Volunteers to fill vacancies that may arise within the next 18 months for permanent, fixed term, full time and part time opportunities.**

**We currently have **1 x Permanent, Part Time position (0.4 FTE or 30hrs/fn) for immediate filling at the WA Maritime Museum, Fremantle; and**

**1 x Permanent, Part Time position (0.7 FTE or 52.5hrs/fn) for immediate filling at the**
**WA Museum Boola Bardip, Perth.**

**About the role**

The Coordinator Volunteers is responsible for the supervision of volunteers onsite at the Western Australian Maritime Museum and Shipwrecks Museum, including overseeing volunteers conducting tours of HMAS Ovens Submarine and visitor gallery engagement activities with members of the public. This position also conducts the induction, rostering, and training of volunteers.

Note that the Coordinator Volunteer position at the WA Maritime Museum is expected to work in confined spaces (submarine) which also includes climbing ladders.

**About you**

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our dynamic team to coordinate our volunteers.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

- Supervise and coordinate all volunteers onsite on a day-to-day basis.
- Assists in the coordination and implementation of volunteer run interpretive activities, and conducts interpretive experiences as required.
- Ensures safety and wellbeing of the volunteers is maintained to Museum standards as per procedures.
- Recruits, inducts, trains, and rosters new volunteers ensuring the consistency of volunteer activities are maintained to appropriate Museum standard.
- Ability to independently solve operational issues as they arise.
- Other duties as required with respect to the scope of the position.

- A statement of no more than **two (2) A4** **pages** addressing the below essential work-related requirements (WRR):
**WRR 1)** Demonstrated understanding of the importance of good customer service and the ability to engage with visitors and staff in a positive and professional manner.

**WRR 2)** Current experience in team supervision within the last six months.

**WRR 5)** Well-developed verbal communication skills, including conflict resolution.

A current (within 6 months) **National Police Clearance Certificate** will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department's Police Record Screening Policy.

**Pool Recruitment**

This pool will be open for a period of **18** **months** from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. **Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time** appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.

Applicants found suitable in this pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies with the WA Museum and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) for the duration of the pool.
