About The Role: TRONOX is recruiting for a Mechanical Technician to be part of the mining operation at our open cut mineral sands mine at Wonnerup, close to Busselton and the idyllic Margaret River wine region.
This position will be offered on permanent basis, working 10 hour days on a rotating 3 Days on/ 2 Days off, 5 Days on/ 4 Days off roster.
Enjoy every second weekend off and be home every night.
You will report to our Maintenance Coordinator and will be responsible for, but not limited to; Carrying out standard and complex maintenance and testing procedures on a broad range of plant equipment.
Performing a range of maintenance related activities, covering; fault finding, installation, maintenance and repair of plant and equipment, as required across site.
Monitoring operating equipment to detect potential problems.
Completing daily / weekly and shutdown maintenance of mobile equipment, a wet plant and site services.
Provide maintenance support to the production team to ensure smooth operations.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
About You To be successful in this role you will have: Mechanical Trade qualification (Fitter / Machinist) with at least 5 years' experience.
Previous experience working as a Mechanical Technician, maintaining fixed and mobile plant in the Mining sector (or similar) Extensive experience with pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, fans, filters, and agitators.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and precision.
Good communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated strong commitment to safety Ability to work independently or as part of a cohesive, multi-trade maintenance team A willingness to be on an 'on call' roster Live local to site as there is no camp on site.
