Overview of the Role:
As a Clinical Nurse in Palliative Care, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality patient care within the palliative care setting. Your advanced skills in patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation will enable you to provide expert clinical advice while leading a multi-disciplinary team. You will actively participate in improving care services and be accountable for the efficient use of resources, ensuring that our patients receive holistic and compassionate support throughout their journey.
Ideal Candidate:
Must be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Demonstrated advanced nursing practice within a palliative care setting is essential.
Strong planning, coordination, and decision-making skills tailored to palliative care.
Well-developed leadership skills, with the ability to lead and be a part of multi-disciplinary teams.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
Experience in incorporating risk management and quality initiatives into nursing practice.
Current driver's licence (C or C-A Class) is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide an expert clinical role in community and hospital settings, offering professional advice on clinical standards and symptom management.
Assist the Nurse Manager with resource planning and management strategies for palliative care services across the South West.
Facilitate effective communication with patients, families, staff, and the general public, identifying patient education needs.
Actively contribute to quality improvement and research programs to enhance Palliative Care services.
Monitor the nursing practice and support the implementation of strategies to improve care delivery.
