About the role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager Residential – The Property Maintenance Officer provides support to the greater SCC Property portfolio with maintenance duties, projects, new constructions, capital works and general improvements to the infrastructure.
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality repairs, alterations and general improvements to all sites and clients across the greater SCC portfolio in an affordable and well‐maintained manner.
Detailed attention to site and contractor compliance, service schedules, servicing records, project outcomes, auditing and reporting is maintained to meet and exceed expectations of residents, the public and associated aged care standards.
The role encompasses working within the property maintenance team and assisting business managers with service delivery – coverage for site annual leave or projects as required.
The Property Maintenance Officer will also be required to facilitate on‑call requirements along with interstate travel as required.

About you
We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.
The successful candidate will have the following;
* Previous experience in building maintenance – trade or handyman services.
* Experience working within legislative and other compliance requirements for building maintenance and/or refurbishment.
* Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
* Ability to follow policy, procedures and other guidelines and standards.
* Commitment to continuous improvement, creativity, innovation and meeting the needs of residents.
* General knowledge of building or facilities maintenance requirements – may include BCA/NCC or AUS/NZS standards and codes.
* A basic knowledge of the requirements of the aged care standards as are applicable to the role.
