Make a meaningful impact in Deakin's Infrastructure & Digital division during an exciting period of transformation within the University. As the Lead Analyst, Cyber Security, you will play a critical role in protecting Deakin's information systems by identifying, analysing and mitigating security threats, ensuring solutions align with the university's strategic priorities, needs and standards.
**As a Lead Analyst, Cyber Security, you will**:
- Provide leadership for the monitoring, analysis and proactive threat hunting to identify potential threats or malicious activities and determine severity and impact.
- Lead the detailed analysis of security incidents to determine root cause and implement measures to prevent recurrence, including digital forensics to gather and preserve evidence during an incident.
- Undertake objective, critical analysis and distil the core issues of Deakin's vulnerabilities by conducting regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing. Assess the risk level and prioritise remediation efforts based on potential impacts.
**To be successful, you'll have**:
- Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience in cybersecurity analysis, strategic thinking and problem solving in a large complex organisation.
- Hands-on experience in proactive threat hunting, with knowledge of advanced analysis techniques to identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
- Demonstrated experience in threat detection and monitoring, incident response and security analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of contemporary security tools and technology management and emerging trends.
- Demonstrated ability to fit into a collaborative team environment with a strong focus on maintaining a positive team culture. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and support customers and stakeholders.
