The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and hands‐on Farm Manager to oversee day‐to‐day farming operations and drive strong crop yield and quality outcomes, located at our Virginia Farms. Working closely with Agronomists and Senior Management, you will implement effective growing strategies, monitor crop health, and manage irrigation, fertiliser, and chemical programs to optimise production.

You will lead and support the farm team to ensure all farming activities, from planting through to harvest are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. The role also involves monitoring crop maturity, managing farm resources and equipment, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across farm operations.

Key Responsibilities

* Strong understanding of crop production, irrigation, fertiliser and chemical application practices
* Ability to monitor crop health and proactively manage disease risks in collaboration with agronomists
* Experience implementing agronomic programs and following technical growing advice
* Knowledge of WHS, food safety and quality standards such as HACCP and GLOBALG.A.P.
* Proven ability to monitor crop development and determine harvest readiness
* Experience planning crop rotations and coordinating planting programs
* Ability to work closely with maintenance teams to ensure farm machinery and equipment are operating efficiently
* Strong organisational and reporting skills with attention to accuracy and timeliness
* Commitment to minimising waste and improving harvesting efficiency
* Proactive mindset with the ability to identify and implement process improvements
* Experience inspecting and managing seed quality and allocation documentation
* Ability to manage and monitor seed crop production to required specifications
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing and supporting farm teams and harvest operators
* Effective communication and coordination skills across operational and technical teams

What we are looking for

* Tertiary qualification in Horticulture, Agriculture or a related field
* 2–3 years' experience in an agricultural environment, including supervisory or management experience
* Strong knowledge of crop production, irrigation management, fertiliser application, plant nutrition and soil management
* Experience monitoring crop health, managing disease risks and implementing agronomic programs
* Understanding of QA, HACCP and WHS compliance requirements
* Ability to plan crop rotations and monitor crop maturity and harvest readiness
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing, training and supporting farm teams
* Ability to coordinate with agronomists and maintenance teams to ensure efficient farm operations
* Excellent communication, conflict resolution and team management skills
* Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
* High level of motivation, accountability and commitment to continuous improvement
