The Role:
Desert Blue Connect is seeking a leader to guide our counselling and FDV programs. The ideal candidate will have a career that demonstrates their values align with ours, will enjoy working in a dynamic workspace and will be capable of juggling multiple priorities simultaneously. You will play a significant part in our leadership team, be strong at building relationships internally and externally and have considerable experience in relevant sectors You will have the direct lead of upto 12 practitioners and may have the opportunity for your own caseload.

Desert Blue Connect is a leading not-for-profit community organisation in Geraldton, Western Australia that offers specialist family violence response, emergency accommodation, primary prevention of family violence, rural support services and women's health. We are committed to supporting communities and people by providing quality service delivery, advocacy and prevention initiatives throughout the mid-west region.
Criteria:
ESSENTIAL
* Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Counselling or Social work.
* Minimum of 5 years counselling experience and eligibility for membership to the relevant professional association.
* Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) is required.
* Highly developed clinical practices and significant experience in, counselling and assessment skills involving women and children who have experienced trauma.
* High level interpersonal skills to engage with staff, clients, stakeholders and the broader community in order to develop effective partnerships and working relationships.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and lead a multidisciplinary team, including the provision of clinical supervision and debriefing.
* Minimum 1-2 years of leadership or supervisory experience is required.
* Substantial experience or knowledge of managing government funded programs, and associated reporting & regulatory requirements.
* Knowledge of grants management processes and requirements is sufficient, with comprehensive experience preferred.
* Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of family and domestic violence, health and gender equity.
DESIRABLE
* Strong business acumen and the ability effectively manage both physical and financial resources and align organisational systems and resources to achieve Desert Blue Connect objectives.
OTHER EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
* Proficient in the use of technology, particularly Microsoft Office.
* Must hold Australian citizenship or be a permanent resident of Australia.
* National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check
* Current Drivers licence
