We have a (10-Month Contract) Senior Cyber Security Consultant role available. This engagement will commence in the New Year. This is a highly technical Cyber Security role with a big focus on Stakeholder Management. Your consulting mindset and ability to communicate effectively with Non-Technical stakeholders will be crucial. You will manage and prioritise Secure by Design backlogs, work closely with technology and business leaders, and provide expert guidance to uplift security controls across BAU and Transformation Projects. This is a strategic, influential role requiring strong technical understanding, exceptional communication, and the ability to navigate senior stakeholder groups. Key Responsibilities: Secure by Design Manage and prioritise the Secure by Design backlog across multiple projects. Embed security requirements, patterns, and controls into solution design, delivery, and development workflows. Conduct threat modelling, design reviews, and security risk assessments for new and existing applications. Influence architecture decisions to ensure adoption of secure engineering principles. Application Security Work with architecture, engineering, and DevOps teams to uplift secure coding, CI/CD security, and modern AppSec practices. Review application security findings, support remediation plans, and track closure across delivery teams. Provide guidance on secure API design, authentication, authorisation, data protection, and secrets management. Partner with development teams to embed automated security testing and SDLC security standards. Senior Stakeholder Engagement Act as the primary cyber security advisor for project executives, product owners, engineering leaders, and governance teams. Translate complex security risks into clear, actionable recommendations. Present risk positions, mitigation strategies, and design decisions to senior decision-makers. Manage escalations, negotiate trade-offs, and ensure alignment between security and business outcomes. Essential Skills & Experience 7–10 years in Cyber Security, with strong experience in Secure by Design / Security Engineering / Advisory Excellent communication skills & consulting mindset is critical Proven capability managing Secure By Design backlogs within complex enterprise project environments (Essential) Technical Background in Cyber Security (Essential) Background in Application Security (Preferred) Strong understanding of modern application security, SDLC, API security, cloud security, and DevSecOps (ideal) Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM or CRISC, or relevant cloud security certifications (preferred) Experience influencing engineering teams and senior stakeholders across large organisations.
