We are seeking a Warehouse & Distribution Team Leader for a local ongoing role with a reputable Steel supplies distributor.
The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and experienced Warehouse & Distribution Team Leader who will add to our team to help us maintain our high standards of excellence.
As the Warehouse & Distribution Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our warehouse and distribution centre. You will be in charge of managing a team of warehouse & production staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
This is a Monday to Friday role - with the view to become permanent. $40 per hour plus penalties and OT (inclusive of casual loading)
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Leading and motivating a small team of warehouse staff to ensure productivity and efficiency
- Assigning tasks and responsibilities to team members
- Training new employees and providing ongoing support and guidance
- Monitoring inventory levels and ensuring accurate stock management
- Coordinating drivers and customers to ensure DIFOT is successfully achieved
- Implementing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures
- Maintaining a clean and organised warehouse environment
- Reporting any issues or concerns to upper management
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution centre environment
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing a team
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and procedures
- Commitment to quality and excellence
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time
- You will have a valid forklift licence and extensive experience handling ugly freight.
