Key Responsibilities
The Buyer II role at Amentum is a key position that requires managing all aspects of purchase order administration. This includes acquisition planning, source selection, cost/price analysis, negotiation, and post-award activities.
Purpose and Scope
This position ensures compliance with government policies and assists remote subcontract administrators with purchase creation.
Responsibilities
1. Establish sources of supply, negotiate prices and delivery commitments, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
2. Communicate procurement actions and status to requesters and assist with special requirements.
3. Follow Supply Chain Procurement procedures for purchase order administration.
4. Review and process requisitions, prepare procurement reports, and contact suppliers for bids and purchase execution.
5. Evaluate proposals, negotiate, and make procurement decisions based on value, price, and terms.
6. Support business development with pricing information and maintain procurement records per CPSR guidelines.
7. Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, agency regulations, and company policies for subcontracts and procurements.
8. Support audits through purchase order file reviews and collaborate with various teams and subcontractors.
9. Support small business initiatives and perform purchase order closeouts.
10. Adhere to environmental, health, safety, and quality standards, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Essential
* Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of relevant experience in procurement or business administration.
* Experience with subcontract types and procurement software, including SharePoint, Microsoft Office, and SAP.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Desirable
* Experience with US FAR regulations, SAP, and security requirements.
* Knowledge of government and defense contracting and project management principles.
Requirements
* A US citizen with a TS/SCI clearance or an Australian citizen who can obtain the appropriate security clearance.
* Must be at least 18 years old and fluent in English.
EHS Requirements
All personnel must comply with site environmental, health, and safety standards, including reporting unsafe acts, completing safety procedures, and stopping unsafe work.
