Role Overview
Reporting to the Property Manager – Commercial and Industrial, the Handyman will be responsible for delivering minor maintenance and repair services across Sentinel’s property portfolio in Mackay and Townsville. The role ensures our assets remain safe, clean, and operational through timely maintenance and facility support.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct general maintenance across commercial and industrial sites
* Perform minor repairs, including lighting, patching, carpentry, and painting
* Carry out landscaping and external upkeep tasks
* Support with basic plumbing and electrical fixes within licensing limits
* Assist with light fixture replacements and flooring upkeep
* Identify and report maintenance issues and safety hazards
* Document completed works and liaise with tenants, contractors, and team members
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a handyman, property maintenance, or similar role
* Relevant handyman, trade, or technical certification preferred
* A White Card (General Construction Induction) is desirable
* Experience with tools and basic repair equipment
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
* Physically fit and capable of manual labour
* Ability to work independently and manage daily priorities
