About the Opportunity:
John Paul College is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Boarding Supervisor to join our Boarding team on a fixed-term, part-time basis from February 2026 to November 2026.
This leadership role is central to ensuring the smooth operation and high standards of the College's Boarding program. Working closely with the Head of Boarding, you will help maintain a safe, supportive and enriching environment for all boarders while guiding and mentoring Boarding Supervisors in their day-to-day responsibilities.
Reporting to the Head of Boarding, this position provides oversight of daily operations including active supervision, medical coordination, academic support, student wellbeing and activities coordination.
The Key Responsibilities of the Senior Boarding Supervisor will include:
* Providing leadership and support to Boarding Supervisors, serving as a key role model and point of contact for day-to-day operations.
* Coordinating medical matters in support of the Boarding Nurse and Head of Boarding, including maintaining medication records, facilitating appointments and liaising with parents.
* Overseeing administration tasks through College systems such as Reach and Synergetic, ensuring Duty Reports and Pastoral Reports are completed accurately.
* Creating and coordinating a termly schedule of age-appropriate and culturally diverse activities for boarders.
* Monitoring student academic progress, conducting academic audits each report period and ensuring students receive targeted support during study times.
* Supporting student participation in College sports, co-curricular activities and external activities, including coordination of transportation logistics.
* Promoting a positive boarding experience by supporting students with uniform requirements, wellbeing needs and life skills guidance.
* Approving student leave, administering medication and handling sensitive matters when on duty.
* Assisting with the orientation of new and returning students to Boarding.

Essential qualifications and experience include:
* Minimum three years' experience working in a boarding house environment.
* Experience in youth activities and working with young people from diverse backgrounds.
* Current Senior First Aid certificate (or ability to obtain prior to commencing).
* Current Paid Blue Card (Positive Notice Working with Children Check) or ability to obtain one prior to commencing.
* Current Open Manual Driver's Licence and willingness to drive College vehicles.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
* High level of digital literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
* Resilience and flexibility in managing high-pressure and evolving situations.
* A clear understanding of, and alignment with, the College's values and Christian Ecumenical ethos.
Desirable qualifications include:
* Progress towards a bachelor's degree in education, psychology or social work.
* Bronze Medallion or Pool Deck Safety qualifications.
* ABSA (Australian Boarding Schools Association) Duty of Care Book/Workshop I and II.
* Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid certification.
Position Details:
Fixed-term contract: 16 February 2026 to 27 November 2026 (Opportunity to extend available for the right candidate)
Part-time: 37.5 hours per week, term time only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm (with a 30-minute unpaid break daily)
