About the office
The Finance Office plays an integral role in the success of the university, ensuring responsible stewardship through financial performance and strategic procurement, with a view to financial sustainability and growth.
About the role
This position will be responsible for assisting the Manager, Commercial Finance by taking a lead role in designing and developing complex financial models, interpreting and analyzing data to support the university and the decision-making process of key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and evaluate both simple and complex fit-for-purpose financial models, along with supporting processes.
* Develop and maintain an understanding of the operational and financial models of the university to ensure models and processes are appropriate for relevant and accurate financial decision-making.
* Prepare frameworks for financial modelling support and advice for business case feasibility submissions, including financial analysis, discounted cash flow, net present value, and internal rate of return calculations.
* Maintain and develop the university's financial forecasting models and supporting processes, including scenario analysis.
* Design and implement processes and checks to ensure the accuracy and quality of model outcomes.
* Mentor subordinates and/or peers within the team.
Qualifications, skills & experience
* CA/CPA level qualifications or equivalent with extensive relevant experience.
* Significant experience in financial reporting and forecasting, using complex accounting systems, data sets, and analysis tools to interrogate large data volumes.
* Experience in stakeholder engagement, influencing outcomes internally and externally.
* Proficiency in data visualization and customizing data presentation for different audiences.
* Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills to analyze complex data and develop creative solutions.
