Your new role


The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the organisation adheres to all relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies across both aged care and disability services. This dual-role position focusses on maintaining compliance with the Home Care Package Program, Aged Care Quality Standards, NDIS Practice Standards, and associated legal frameworks.


Key Responsibilities:

* Ensure adherence to Home Care Packages guidelines, subsidy regulations, and service agreements.
* Monitor compliance with the Aged Care Act, Aged Care Quality Standards, NDIS Act, and NDIS Practice Standards.
* Stay informed of changes in aged care and NDIS regulations and share updates with relevant staff.
* Prepare and maintain documentation for accreditation, registration, and external audits.
* Conduct regular audits of aged care and NDIS services, including care plans, client records, financials, and service delivery.
* Compile detailed compliance reports with actionable recommendations for management.
* Track and ensure implementation of corrective actions following audits.
* Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework for aged care and NDIS operations.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across both programs.
* Investigate incidents, breaches, and near-misses, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken.
* Manage feedback and complaints from aged care and NDIS clients professionally and promptly.
* Ensure complaint handling aligns with regulatory requirements from relevant commissions.
* Analyse feedback and complaint trends to identify systemic issues and drive improvements.
* Develop, review, and update policies and procedures to meet compliance and best practice standards.
* Ensure staff are trained and informed on all compliance-related policies.
* Deliver training on Home Care Packages, Aged Care Quality Standards, and NDIS Practice Standards.

What you'll need to succeed

* Holds tertiary qualifications in health, aged care, disability, compliance, risk management, or a related field.
* Possesses certifications in auditing, compliance, or risk management (desirable).
* Has over 4 years of experience in compliance, auditing, or regulatory roles within aged care and/or disability services.
* Demonstrates strong knowledge of Home Care Packages, Aged Care Quality Standards, NDIS Practice Standards, and relevant legislation.
* Maintains high attention to detail in auditing, documentation, and compliance reporting.
* Communicates effectively and delivers training confidently.
* Works independently and collaborates well across teams.
* Applies effective problem-solving and risk management strategies.
* Handles sensitive information with integrity and professionalism.
* Demonstrates a proactive approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
* Manages multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Completes internal and external audits with minimal non-compliance.
* Resolves complaints and incidents promptly.
* Implements continuous improvement initiatives with measurable impact.
* Receives positive feedback from staff, clients, and families regarding compliance processes
* Maintains ongoing accreditation and registration with Aged Care and NDIS standards
