Description
The Event Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering allocated events that take place at Melbourne Showgrounds. This includes assistance with Melbourne Royal Food and Beverage Award presentations, Melbourne Royal Show events, and other Melbourne Royal delivered events. The role is focused on ensuring all events are executed to a high standard, and delivered professionally, with a strong emphasis on client service excellence and patron satisfaction.
Skills And Experiences
* Demonstrated experience in event management, with a proven record of success in a busy, multi-purpose venue or comparable events industry environment
* Strong event planning capability, with a sound understanding of budgeting, project management principles, and operational delivery
* Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including clients, internal teams, management, and external suppliers
* Highly developed customer service orientation, with a collaborative approach and the ability to achieve positive, win-win outcomes
* Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to contribute effectively within multi-disciplinary teams and support collective objectives
* Highly organised, detail-focused, reliable, and motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and remain calm under pressure
* Sound judgment and confident problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently, multitask effectively, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

* Experience in office administration processes, with well-developed skills in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), and ideally familiarity with Momentus or similar event management systems
* Current Working with Children Check required
* Availability to work the 11 days of the Melbourne Royal Show
* Availability to work evenings in line with Melbourne Royal Event calendar
* Ability to work additional hours in the lead up and during events (including after hours and weekends)
