About the Role

In this impactful therapeutic position, you will provide part‐time or full‐time trauma‐informed, client‐centred counselling to women experiencing domestic, family, and sexual violence. Your work will support recovery, empowerment, cultural connection, emotional safety, and wellbeing.

* Deliver counselling interventions using trauma‐informed, strengths‐based and recovery‐focused frameworks
* Provide culturally safe support grounded in cultural identity, community, and connection
* Conduct psychosocial assessments, therapeutic formulations, and safety planning
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, including lived‐experience staff
* Complete accurate and timely case notes and maintain clinical compliance
* Participate in external supervision, reflective practice and ongoing professional development
* Contribute to service development, policy review and culturally safe workplace practice
* AOD experience is highly regarded due to the intersection of issues often experienced by clients

About You

You will be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander woman who brings warmth, cultural depth, and strong therapeutic capability.

* Tertiary qualifications in counselling, psychology, social work or related fields
* Eligibility for professional registration (PACFA, ACA, AASW, APS or AHPRA)
* Experience supporting women impacted by domestic, family or sexual violence or related trauma
* Strong understanding of trauma‐informed care, DFSV frameworks, and therapeutic modalities
* Experience providing culturally safe counselling to First Nations women
* Skills in risk assessment, safety planning, and case documentation
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust and rapport
* Commitment to feminist principles, social justice, and cultural safety
