About the Role
As a Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in enhancing the lives of people with disabilities and young individuals by providing tailored, person-centred support. Whether it’s daily living assistance, emotional guidance, or community engagement, your work will help create a more inclusive and compassionate society.
You’ll work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including sleepovers, active nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, individualised support to people with disabilities and young people
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and skill development
- Build meaningful connections and provide mentorship and emotional support
- Support community participation and recreational activities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement support plans
- Advocate for customer rights and promote independence
- Create safe, trauma-informed environments for young people with complex needs
What You’ll Need
- Experience in disability, aged care, or family/community services
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
- NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Solid communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, nights, sleep overs, weekends & public holidays
Requirements for Children’s Services
- Passionate about human rights and creating positive change
- Empathetic, compassionate, and resilient
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Certificate IV in Disability or Child, Youth & Family Intervention (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid, CPR, Driver’s licence & NDIS Worker check or willingness to obtain
- Availability for 24/7 rostered shifts
Requirements for Community Services
- 2 years' experience supporting participants with complex care needs
- Passionate about human rights and driving positive change
- Empathetic, compassionate, and understanding of diverse experiences
- Excellent communication skills, with a focus on listening and responding to customer needs
- Team player, enthusiastic about collaboration and sharing best practices
- Willingness to obtain relevant regulatory requirements
