Open Space Maintenance Team Member – Eastern Region
Job Summary:
This role is part of a multi-disciplined team responsible for the construction and maintenance of Council's Open Space assets, including parks, reserves, sporting facilities, urban streetscapes, beaches, foreshores, and cemeteries.
* We are seeking an experienced horticulturist to join our team and contribute to maintaining the high standard of Council's Open Space assets.
Salary:
The successful applicant will receive a competitive annual salary commencing at $68,136 to $69,102, depending on qualifications, skills, and experience, plus up to 13% superannuation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and improve the appearance of parks, gardens, and open spaces through gardening, turf management, and other horticultural activities.
* Operate and maintain medium-sized plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
* Conduct inspections and maintenance of playgrounds and other park assets and furniture.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated good horticultural knowledge and skill from working in the industry.
* Demonstrated horticultural experience with parks and gardens maintenance activities, including ornamental plant culture, landscape construction, irrigation systems, pruning, tree maintenance, turf mowing, and maintenance.
* Demonstrated ability to work well within a team or independently and maintain good working relationships with all council employees.
* Queensland 'C' Class driver's licence that is current and maintained.
* Construction Industry White/Blue card.
