About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our leadership team at Customs House. This full-time role is a key support position to the Head Chef and plays a critical part in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You will help lead the team, uphold culinary standards, and contribute to the ongoing development of our menus, systems, and people.
What You'll Be Doing
* Support the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations
* Lead service, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely delivery of dishes
* Prepare, cook, and plate dishes to a high standard using seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients
* Assist with menu development, costing, and implementation
* Supervise, train, and mentor junior kitchen staff
* Maintain food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards at all times
* Assist with ordering, stock control, and minimising waste
* Liaise with front-of-house to ensure seamless service and exceptional guest experiences
We're Looking For
* Experience in a Sous Chef role or strong Chef De Partie stepping up
* Proven experience in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
* Excellent technical cooking skills across a range of techniques
* Strong organisational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities
* Passion for quality produce, seasonal menus, and continuous improvement
* High attention to detail and a strong commitment to food safety and hygiene

Pay: $77,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
