When you apply to the Banking and Accounting career pathway, there are three programs to choose from.
Finance & Accounting – Sydney
Over the summer, you might see yourself in Group Treasury, Climate Strategy, Group Finance, a Business Unit Finance team and Audit. You’ll work with knowledgeable and driven teams that are trusted advisors and business partners. You’ll provide financial and market analysis, specialist advice, support and insights on financial performance to support our Board, our shareholders and stakeholders in their decision making.
You’ll gain hands-on experience working with multiple data sets and data analytics tools, completing financial analysis and modelling, producing performance metrics and management reports, learning about capital, funding and balance sheet management. At the end of the program, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your learnings and the chance to fast track an offer in the 24-month Financial Services Graduate Program.
Business Banking - Commercial – Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne & Perth
You’ll have a direct impact on our customers and the community standing side-by-side with our business clients across Australia, providing them with financial solutions to bring their visions to life – everything from start-ups to listed companies.
You’ll develop your skills in credit analysis, financial modelling, interpretation of customer’s financial information, and managing the end-to-end lending process.
At the end of your program, you’ll have the chance to fast track into the Graduate Program where you roll off into an Analyst role. At the end of the Program, you’ll be future ready to become a banker or leader in our business by transitioning into a challenging role as an Analyst.
Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) – Sydney & Melbourne
You will have the opportunity to join one of our IB&M teams, including Global Markets, Commodities, Trade & Carbon, Capital Structuring, Client Coverage or Quants, Data, Analytics & Technology.
You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of IB&M through interactive learning sessions, and will have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that have direct impact on our institutional clients. You will also have the opportunity to work cross-functionally on a group project to solve some of the most significant challenges facing our business.
After the Summer Intern Program, you’ll have the chance to fast track into the 12-month Graduate Program where you'll have the opportunity to rotate through 3 different teams across Global Markets, Commodities, Trade & Carbon, Capital Structuring, Client Coverage or Quants, Data, Analytics & Technology.

You may have a background in quantitative degrees such as Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, and Mathematics or studied subjects aligned to these disciplines. You’re also -

* An Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident at the time of application.
* A New Zealand citizen already residing in Australia, and an Australian resident for tax purposes at the time of your application;
* In your penultimate year of your overall university degree, or if you’re doing a double degree (in your penultimate year), and;
* Have achieved at least a credit average minimum in your degree’
