Position details
* Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Vanadium ore characterisation
* Full-time and fixed term
* Located at the Townsville campus in North Queensland
* Academic Level A salary with up to 17% employer superannuation contributions
Key responsibilities
This position involves close collaboration with Critical Minerals Queensland and external industry stakeholders. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will undertake research focused on characterisation of vanadium from various horizons of the Toolebuc Formation and various tailings samples to inform decisions regarding characterisation techniques, ore extraction, tailings handling, and environmental management.
The successful candidate will conduct research, develop and/or contribute to research publications as a member of a high-performing team, ensuring all key research outcomes and milestones are achieved in alignment with project timelines.
Qualifications, skills, and experience required
* A PhD qualification or equivalent in Geology or related disciplines
* Demonstrated experience in mineralogy, petrology, economic geology, and/or geochemistry
* Experience in geological materials characterisation through instrumental methods such as EPMA, SEM, LA-ICPMS, XRD, etc.
* A proven track record in research publication
