The Opportunity
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a bright, ambitious 1 to 3 years PAE Lawyer to join this high-performing Public Law team.
This is not a back-of-house document review role. You will step into a dynamic environment working alongside powerhouse Partners. This unique structure ensures you receive direct, hands-on mentorship from some of the sharpest public law/ administrative law partners in the country.
Key Responsibilities
* Government Advisory: Assist in advising government departments and agencies on governance, statutory interpretation, and regulatory frameworks.
* Administrative Litigation: Draft statements of claim, submissions, and letters of advice for merits review and judicial review proceedings.
* Court Advocacy: Work closely with partners and counsel on matters appearing before the Federal Court, Federal Circuit Court, and ART.
* Client Engagement: Maintain strong, professional relationships with institutional and government stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
* Experience: 1–3 years of post-qualification experience (PAE) in public law, administrative law, or commercial litigation with a strong desire to specialise. Experience as an Associate at the ART will be highly regarded.
* Technical Skills: Excellent statutory interpretation, legal research, and clear, commercial drafting capabilities.
* Attributes: A proactive, inquisitive mindset with the confidence to communicate directly with sophisticated government clients.
