The Role:_**
As the Accounts Payable Officer, you will play a vital role in managing and executing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Verify, classify, and post invoices to the appropriate accounts
- Ensure that purchases are appropriately approved and match purchase orders.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies with vendors and internal departments
- Prepare and process payment batches, including wire transfers and cheques.
- Assist with month-end closing processes, including preparing reports and documentation.
- Facilitate communications with vendors related to payment inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems for all accounts payable transactions.
- Support process improvements by suggesting enhancements to current procedures.
**Requirements**:
**To be successful in this role you will have**:
- Proven experience in an accounts payable role.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Familiarity with accounting software and MS Office suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
