Job Overview
You'll provide essential support and care to those who need it most as a Disability Support Worker.
Main Responsibilities
* Personal care: Grooming, dressing, toileting, showering, and continence aid management.
* Domestic duties: Meal preparation, shopping, housekeeping, cleaning, and hoisting support.
* Medication assistance: Supporting participants with their medications and medical needs.
* Experience focus: Mental health support, behavioral support, and community inclusion activities.
* High-intensity support: Addressing participants' high care needs for independent living.
Essential Requirements
* Experience: Prior experience supporting clients with disabilities is highly desirable.
* Communication skills: Effective communication through AUSLAN or other means.
* Certifications: Current Paid employee Blue Card, Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Clearance, First Aid & CPR.
* Healthcare experience: Background in injury and skin care, ABI, Epilepsy, BOC, severe OCS, anxiety, and related conditions.
* NDIS compliance: Completed 'Worker Orientation' module or willing to obtain.
* Legal authorization: Full Australian working rights and proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
* References: Two current professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years.
