About the Opportunity
Cleared Recruitment is partnering with a Federal Government Department to engage a Data Engineer / ETL Developer for a secure, high-impact program.
This role focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines and enterprise data platforms, supporting critical business and operational outcomes.
The Role
You'll be responsible for designing, transforming, and managing data to ensure it is reliable, accessible, and ready for use across the organisation.
Working in a collaborative team, you'll play a key role in developing scalable data solutions and maintaining end-to-end data management processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and build data engineering solutions using SQL and Python
* Develop and maintain ETL pipelines and data workflows
* Transform and integrate data from multiple sources into usable formats
* Perform data quality checks and remediation
* Develop standardised tooling and data engineering practices
* Produce and maintain technical documentation
* Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering and business teams
Required Experience
* 3+ years experience in Data Engineering or Data Warehousing
* Strong capability in SQL and Python
* Experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines
* Ability to integrate and transform data (normalisation, feature extraction, etc.)
* Strong data quality and validation experience
* Proven ability to document work and collaborate effectively
Highly Desirable
* Experience with containerisation or platform engineering
* Ability to design and build APIs for data integration
* Experience across data storage platforms (OLAP, RDBMS, document stores)
* Understanding of data flow and pipeline orchestration technologies
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in IT, Data Engineering, or related field (desirable)
Security Requirements
* Must be an Australian Citizen
* Active TSPV clearance required (TSPA considered)
