Project Manager - Procurement
About the Role:
This role involves negotiating favourable purchasing arrangements for products and materials required in property maintenance services. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing contracts with external suppliers, achieving economies of scale, and promoting social benefits such as engaging with local businesses and partnerships with social enterprise schemes.
Main Responsibilities:
* Analyse data to determine high value/high usage products and materials, forecasting future requirements.
* Evaluate products and materials that may provide better value for money.
* Engage with partner organisations to maximise economies of scale benefits.
* Establish relationships with stockists and suppliers, monitoring performance and identifying improvements.
* Develop a long-term procurement strategy incorporating access for contractors to preferable purchasing arrangements.
Selection Criteria:
* Demonstrated experience in the Tasmanian Government procurement framework and contract management, particularly in an asset-management setting.
* Experience in implementing strategies to reduce material costs while maintaining high service standards and aligning with Homes Tasmania objectives.
* Proficiency in analysing finance, data, and performance tracking, making informed procurement decisions.
* Current Driver's Licence.
Working Conditions:
This is a fixed-term full-time position, commencing approximately 15 June 2025, for a period of 6 months. Work location will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
