We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Trainee to join our team in Wagga Wagga. The successful candidate will provide care for patients and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
About the Role
This is an advanced trainee position, funded by the STP program. The paediatric advanced trainee will work under supervision, providing effective clinical management of patients, including patient assessment, treatment decisions, procedures and maintaining medical records.
The role involves working in a complex clinical environment, developing expertise in medical practice, and supervised general medical management of patients admitted to specialist departments.
The position is accredited for general paediatrics and rural paediatrics (with perinatal component). 12 month positions may be approved for 6 months community/developmental paediatrics on discussion.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide effective clinical management of patients, under appropriate supervision.
* Maintain adequate medical records.
* Develop expertise in medical practice in a complex clinical environment.
* Work under supervision, performing procedures and making treatment decisions.
Requirements
* MBBS or equivalent qualification.
* Completion of at least four postgraduate years of medical practice.
* High level communication skills.
* Demonstrated good organisational and time management skills.
* Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
Working Environment
The Wagga Wagga Health Service provides a range of services including critical care, medical, surgical, paediatric, obstetric, and rehabilitation care. We also provide mental health and community health services.
The hospital campus includes a 325 bed referral hospital, a 24 hour Emergency Department, and a purpose-built Health Services Hub.
The position requires regular attendance at outreach clinics in surrounding towns, supported by paediatric consultants.
