Home to the Hunter Valley Conference and Events Centre, which caters from 10 to grand celebrations for over 1,100 guests.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining impeccable hygiene standards and practices across the kitchen
- Training, mentoring, and developing junior kitchen staff to foster a culture of excellence
- Overseeing the preparation and presentation of food to meet the expectations of our diverse clientele
- Collaborating with the team across our multifaceted kitchens to ensure smooth operations during peak times and special events
Skills & Experience
- Passion for excellence and great attention to detail in every dish you create
- 2–3 years’ experience in fast-paced kitchens, with the ability to thrive under high pressure
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with multiple Food & Beverage outlets and the kitchen team
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Proven success in managing junior staff and leading a team
- Solid understanding of food cost and production processes, focusing on efficiency and waste minimization
- Computer skills for handling kitchen systems and documentation
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Knowledge of kitchen hygiene and safety procedures, with compliance to regulations
- Trade cooking qualifications (Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery) are essential
- Strong leadership and work ethic, maintaining high standards
- Familiarity with hotel occupational health and safety guidelines (WH&S;) and commitment to practicing them in the kitchen
