Medical Assistant Job

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm, with opportunities for advancement and professional development.
About the Role:
1. Assist patients with flow through the clinic and escort them to exam rooms.
2. Take vital signs and prepare patients for provider assessment.
3. Prepare exam rooms and instruments for examination and testing, and maintain appropriate inventory of supplies.
4. Sterilize instruments as assigned.
5. Screen telephone calls for referral to interpret lab results, give advice, etc.
6. Ensure that lab reports, x-rays, and other information are in patient records.
7. Assist providers with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments as directed.
8. Remain in exam room with provider during patient exams as requested or assigned.
9. Follow infection control guidelines and ensure adherence to OSHA and CLIA protocols due to potential exposure to blood and body fluids.
10. Perform daily controls on equipment and maintain records/logs in accordance with regulations and protocol.
11. Prepare medications.
12. Maintain CPR certification and licensure requirements.
13. Complete weekly task assignments.
14. Accurately triage walk-in patients and call-ins.
15. Stock supplies in medical rooms prior to all shifts.
16. Check expiration dates on all pharmacy and other stored products.
17. Adhere to scheduling assignments.
18. Attend required meetings, in-services, and participate in committees as requested.
19. Perform other duties and activities as per credentialed and proven skill level or incidental to the work and responsibilities of this position.
20. Use additional forms of telehealth to assist providers.
21. Provide health screening (PHQ9, Edinburgh Scale, and GAD 7) as needed to direct patients to necessary medical care.
