Who we are Financial Operations Branch provides shared services for the department, including corporate services such as travel, credit cards, procurement, grants policy, advice and reporting, payroll services, procurement, accounts receivable, debt management and accounts payable. The branch also provides a project management and oversight role for some of the critical projects for the division. Travel, Credit Cards and Concur Section within the Financial Operations Branch is responsible for providing financial services to the Department in travel and credit card management. The Job The Travel Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the operations of the travel team and to ensure high-quality travel advice to the department. Duties include but not limited to: • leading and managing the activities of the travel team to ensure efficient and effective delivery of departmental travel • providing guidance, mentoring, training, for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge • preparation and reviewing of travel data for monthly reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Board, and other reporting as required • analysing feedback and travel reports to identify areas for improvement and implement changes accordingly • ensuring adherence to travel policies, standards, and procedures • developing effective working relationships with key stakeholders and representing the department in meetings with internal and external stakeholders • reviewing complex and sensitive transactional data and work collaboratively with the Assistant Director to achieve the desired outcome • managing priorities to ensure all activities are completed to agreed timeframes and standards • being responsible for the development, management, and implementation of key business improvements. What we are looking for Knowledge and experience The successful applicant will have: • demonstrated ability to manage a client-focused, solution-oriented team with clear roles, responsibilities • demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure and delegate work appropriately, while still producing quality work • experience in building and sustaining relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts, both internal and external, to deliver outcomes • experience in analysing data/information, providing timely and accurate advice and communicate information specific to the role • knowledge of travel booking systems • an understanding of the Whole of Government Travel Service Arrangements and experience in using Visalink, CTM, Travel Pack, Concur and TechOne (desirable but not essential) • experience in MS Word, Excel.
