About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Officer to provide person-centred care in a welcoming community.
As a key member of our team, you will support older adults to live with dignity, comfort, and choice. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality care, ensuring residents' needs are met promptly and respectfully.
Responsibilities:
* Accurately maintain resident documentation, including daily notes, care assessments, and care plans.
* Monitor and record any changes in residents' needs, reporting concerns promptly.
* Ensure residents' personal belongings are stored neatly and organized.
* Assist with meal service, supporting residents during mealtimes as needed.
* Deliver specialized nursing care under supervision, following individual care plans.
* Provide consistently high standards of care and support to all residents.
* Encourage residents' independence by assisting with personal care respectfully and in line with their care plan.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, families, GPs, and allied health professionals.
* Uphold residents' rights to privacy, confidentiality, choice, and decision-making.
* Offer emotional support and companionship to residents.
* Engage proactively as part of the wider care team.
* Build positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
* Support compliance with aged care standards and organizational policies.
* Remain adaptable and responsive to organizational needs and changes.
* Attend team meetings, training sessions, and mandatory education programs.
* Identify personal training needs and participate in ongoing learning.
* Contribute to workplace safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Recognize and report potential risks or complaints relevant to the role.
* Follow Occupational Health & Safety policies and safe work practices.
* Maintain a safe environment for yourself, your team, and residents.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Up-to-date annual flu vaccination and full COVID-19 immunization.
* A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
* Diploma or relevant qualification.
* Valid driver's license and own transportation.
* Team player with a genuine commitment to long-term employment.
