About The Role: This role supports safe, effective, and person-centred medication management across the hospital. 
Responsibilities 
Deliver clinical pharmacy services and provide expert advice to medical, nursing, and allied health staff 
Contribute to patient care plans by reviewing medication therapy and promoting evidence-based best practice 
Support medication safety initiatives and ensure compliance with Pharmacy Board of Australia standards and relevant legislation 
Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary care team to ensure safe and integrated healthcare delivery 
Tomaree Community Hospital supports new staff with on-the-job orientation, one-on-one handover from the outgoing pharmacist, access to NSW Health clinical networks and professional development, and ongoing guidance from management to ensure confidence and growth in the role. 
Where You'll Be Working 
Tomaree Community Hospital is a modern regional facility located in Nelson Bay, Port Stephens, NSW. The hospital provides general medical care, emergency care, and palliative care to the local community. About You 
The successful candidate will hold current registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia and have demonstrated clinical pharmacy experience within a hospital setting. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential for reviewing medication charts and managing prescriptions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team and engage with patients professionally and supportively. The role requires the ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment with a commitment to professionalism, patient safety, and confidentiality. While a solid clinical pharmacy foundation is essential, onboarding will include structured onboarding and ongoing support to become familiar with local hospital systems, site procedures, and software. 
Requirements 
Registered as a practising pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with at least 3 years post-registration clinical skills/experience (to be eligible for Grade 2 Pharmacist) 
Eligible to drive in NSW and able to travel to all HNE facilities as determined by role needs 
Ability to participate in the after-hours on-call roster 
Ability to work periodic planned overtime for testing and upgrades
