School Overview
Maimuru Public School is a small rural school situated between Young and Grenfell on Wiradjuri Country. With an enrolment of 11 students, the school places students at the core of decision‐making, supported by strong partnerships with families and the community. The learning culture is one of high expectations and personalised programs for diverse learners, guided by the motto 'Success through Striving'. The school offers high levels of technology access, leadership opportunities, and a robust music program delivered weekly by a teacher from the Young Regional Conservatorium.
Students and staff are part of the Young Small Schools Learning Community (YSSLC), which facilitates shared academic, sporting and cultural activities.
Specific Selection Criteria
* Approval to teach infants and/or primary and an understanding of the role of a Teaching Principal, with proven capacity to lead continuous school improvement and innovation built on collaboration and reflective practice.
* Demonstrated understanding of the opportunities and challenges of leading a small rural school to maximise learning experiences and outcomes for all students.
* Demonstrated strong pedagogical knowledge of current educational practice and a relentless commitment to increasing student achievement by embedding strong professional learning processes.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain and foster positive connections with parents, staff, network schools and the wider school community.
General Selection Criteria
* High level educational leadership with the ability to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education.
* Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs.
* High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.
* Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.
* Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.
* Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Conditions
Applicants must hold an unconditional full approval to teach. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you will be required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Classification Structure for Principals is based on the new "Teaching Principal Level TP1" classification as outlined in the Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award 2017. The principal classification for this school is TP1 for 2026.
