Job Title: Farming Operations Manager
A leading farming enterprise is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farming Operations Manager to oversee the planning and implementation of cropping and pasture programs. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our farm.
About The Role
* Develop and implement strategic plans for crop and pasture improvement
* Supervise and coordinate seasonal workers and contractors
* Collaborate with our management team to make informed decisions about farm operations
* Ensure accurate records and contribute to ongoing improvements
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and implement pasture improvement and cropping programs
2. Operate and maintain modern machinery (John Deere and GPS experience preferred)
3. Seasonal planning and paddock reporting
4. Weed and pest control
5. Assist with livestock operations and step in as Livestock Manager when required
6. Supervise contractors and seasonal workers
7. Maintain accurate records and contribute to ongoing improvements
Required Skills And Qualifications
Ideal candidate would have:
* Solid knowledge of cropping and pasture systems
* Machinery operation and maintenance experience (John Deere and GPS ideal)
* ChemCert certification and/or understanding of safe chemical use
* Livestock handling skills and low-stress stockmanship
* Welding or general mechanical skills
* Confidence using farm management software or willingness to learn
* A current driver's licence (HR licence a bonus)
