About the Role:
We are seeking applicants for a Senior Social Worker position in a hospital in Launceston, Tasmania. This is a permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight.
We are seeking a Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary team providing person-centered, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Senior Social Work leadership and contribute to the development, provision, and evaluation of social work services
- Mentor and supervise Social Work staff practice and student development
- Provide information, support, and counseling to individuals and families within the inpatient setting
- Provide Social Work interventions that aim to minimise the impact of chronic or acute health conditions, including Palliative Care and Oncology Clients
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and service providers for seamless care

About You:
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work
- AASW Registration
- Patient, service-orientated and more importantly a ‘people person’
- Active listener and critical thinking skills
- A strong ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures
- Demonstrated high standard of oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, time management and organisation to ensure effective teamwork
- Current drivers licence
- Working with children check
- Eligible to work permanently in Australia
