ALS is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join their dynamic team in Orange, NSW. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in the Science Industry and possess relevant qualifications or experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Microwave digestion of Fire Assay dore bead samples for analysis
* Assisting with Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) operations and routine preventative maintenance
* Preparing and verifying calibration standard solutions
* Handling sample disposal and cleaning labware
* Conducting stocktakes and inventory checks
* Participating in Laboratory Quality Management Systems and safe work practices
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and calibrating AAS and ICP-AES instrumentation. On-the-job training will be provided in the technical components and procedures of the role.
This is a full-time position working the day shift from Monday to Friday. The role requires excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills. The ideal candidate will also have a strong desire to learn new skills and exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time.
Requirements
* A BSc (Chemistry, Environmental Science, or similar) or TAFE qualifications in Laboratory Techniques
* Previous commercial laboratory experience
* AAS and/or ICP-AES experience highly desirable
* Good communication and time management skills
* The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while being committed to the work of a team
