About the role
Join a collaborative and purpose‐driven research environment as a Research Project Officer, supporting the successful delivery of meaningful research projects within the Radiation Oncology Department. This is an exciting part‐time (0.4 – 0.6 FTE) opportunity, offering a hybrid 8‐month fixed‐term contract.
The Research Project Officer, Radiation Oncology supports the effective conduct, coordination, and delivery of research projects and initiatives within the Radiation Oncology Department. This role provides comprehensive project, administrative, and research support to ensure studies are delivered efficiently, ethically, and in line with governance and organisational requirements.
Working closely with clinician researchers, academic researchers, research students, and other internal and external stakeholders, the Research Project Officer supports a broad range of research activities, including project coordination, ethics and governance applications, research/collaboration agreements, data integrity, reporting, and communications between stakeholders.
This position is ideal for a detail‐oriented professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment and is motivated to support high‐quality radiation oncology research that makes a meaningful impact.
About You
Completion of a tertiary degree in a radiation oncology related discipline (e.g. medicine, radiation therapy, medical/imaging physics), or a postgraduate research degree in a health‐related field (ideally cancer or medical imaging or health services research).
Experience working in health or medical research or clinical trials/research officer environments, ideally within oncology.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary and multi‐stakeholder teams.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and tailor messaging to audiences of diverse training.
High level of professionalism, initiative, organisation, attention to detail, and solution‐focused problem‐solving.
Positive, proactive team player with a "can do" attitude and alignment with Ingham Institute values.
Understanding of typical research cycle, including funding and research proposals, project and data management and milestone outputs such as publications.
Knowledge of Australian research governance frameworks, including NSW Health requirements, HREC processes, ICH GCP, and privacy legislation.
