Its specialities include cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, cancer, respiratory medicine, neurology, liver and kidney transplants.This position aims to support evidence-based care for the treatment and management of mental illness and the occupational therapy needs for parents and babies presenting to NSW health services in public settings. It outlines the implementation of appropriate care that is consistent with current guidelines and has been shown to be effective in the treatment and management of perinatal mental health conditions within the Australian context.This position provides evidence based Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment and interventions in the specialised field of perinatal mental health. Patients/clients/consumers will be seen individually and in groups for treatment. The Occupational Therapist will be expected to work as a member of the clinical team at the Parents & babies Unit.
