About the role
In your new role as Maintenance Fitter at the Baiada Processing Plant, you will support the team in:
* Performing routine maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on plant machinery and equipment.
* Ensuring all mechanical systems operate efficiently and safely to minimise downtime.
* Responding promptly to breakdowns and performing preventive maintenance.
* Working closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operation of equipment.
* Maintaining accurate maintenance records and updating maintenance management systems.
* Assisting with installation of new machinery and plant upgrades.
* Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with Baiada's safety procedures and policies.
About you
As a Maintenance Fitter, you will bring recent hands-on experience working in a fast-paced industrial or processing environment. In addition, you will demonstrate:
* A recognised trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter.
* Proven experience in both preventative and reactive maintenance.
* Strong welding skills (including MIG, TIG, or Stick) with the ability to perform structural and equipment-related welds.
* Proficiency in using maintenance management systems and workshop tools.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills for liaising with team members and reporting issues.
* The ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
